Oklahoma Bingo

[ English ]

Oklahoma has long been analogous with Bingo. This is due to the fact that the American Indian bands of Oklahoma have operated Bingo games for decades. Patrons from many of the surrounding states pile in trucks and head over to Oklahoma to enjoy Bingo on the weekends.

The 1988 IGRA followed a landmark decree by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. Since that time, twenty three of the thirty nine Amerindian bands located in Oklahoma have established gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Indian band to take advantage of the wagering laws, and today control 10 casinos of their own. Bingo is the game on which these gambling dens were built on. Electronic games such as slot machine games weren’t permitted, due to the fact that they’re thought to contribute to gambling addiction at a higher rate than bingo.

In the past few years, Oklahoma law have altered to allow for enormous Native gaming gambling halls. You’ll now see American Indian gambling dens with slots, video poker and black jack tables. Craps and roulette are not authorized in the Native gambling dens yet, however that is simply a waiting game. Nobody can determine what having different casino games in the bingo houses will do for the appeal of bingo.
